I've Reached a New Low!

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, I've disagreed with Cara and other friends and family that I need to go out and have some adult time, tonight, was my NO KID night for the week and this is the fun I had......
All day at work, I was dreaming of the Hot Fudge Cake dessert at Cheddar's, I got off work, went to tan, picked the little sister up and met Molly at Cheddar's This is exactly what consumed my thoughts ALL DAY at work!

And this is what it looked like, when we finished! ;-) Needless to say, I've decided that maybe it is time, I get out...... But it will have to wait until next week, I'm taking the kids fishing this weekend! ;-)

Memorial Day Weekend!

I love a three day weekend! This Memorial day weekend, Maggie and I took it pretty easy, we went shopping Friday night and got a new swing set and pool..... It took me and Brittany ALL morning Sat. to NOT get it put together and my dad, about 15 minutes Sat. evening to whip it right up! Agh..... ANYWAYS, Maggie loves it and that's all that matters! Score Mommy! ;-) Saturday night after We worked in the Yard all day, Maggie's Crazy uncles, Gordon and Junior called and asked her if she wanted to go for a hay ride and of course she said ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

On the way to Gordon's Maggie said... "when I see my uncle Gordon, i'm gonna tell me, I love you.. now I mean it, I love you!" ;-)

Here are some pictures of the "Hayride" it was in the back of Gordon's truck, Kris, me and junior, rode in the cab! ;-)
You won't see Gordon , he is in the corner covered in kids! ;-)

Sunday was church and dinner afterwards, it was great! Kris, the girls, Cara and her fam. & Linda all came ... Afterwards, Grandma ,Maggie, and I went to the Cemetery and looked at all the pretty flowers, then Maggie and I spent most of the afternoon with grandma at her house , later we went to Poppy's at hung out at the Creek... When Maggie was younger she used to say, I Anna go to Meme's and dig a hole! ;-) Meme used to always let her dig in her back yard, Maggie even has her own Farm tools! and she uses them.Monday Cara and I ran to Meijer's to get some stuff to cook out at Lindas and while we were there the girls HAD to race the horseys
We headed to Linda's to cook out! Lauren stole the camera and took pictures, she was pretty good... she took a picture of this really pretty and very nice girl! I wonder where she came from ! ;-)

As soon as we got to Memaw's the kids all ran to the Little pool she had bought for them and jumped in WITH THEIR CLOTHES ON!!!!

All and All we had a great weekend!
Prayer Request~ Please remember my friend Tawana Phillips and her son Todd Shrank in your prayers ! Tawana and my mom were best friends! and she is one of the sweetest, most kind people I have ever met .... and I love her! ;-)
Also remember her parent Juanita and Dave.

A Cute Maggie Story!

This past mother's day on the way to church Maggie and Hailey her friend had a conversation in the backseat of my car that I just thought was amazing, then this morning on the way to Maggie's Grandparents( Her sitters & wonderful people) Maggie said another amazing , christian thing to me. I'm all the time telling my friends and even my dad to watch what they say around Maggie because she remembers everything ans repeats it. She's so smart and funny and these two little conversations prove exactly that!

Sunday on the way to Church~ btw- Hailey's cat had kittens! ;-)
Maggie is 3 and Hailey is 4 and they are BFF!

M-do your kittens have a daddy?
H-No yet, we only have a mommy
M- Do you have a daddy?
H-No, I only have a mommy, do you have a daddy?
M- you have a daddy, God’s your daddy he lives in Heaven with my Memaw Karen and he loves you more than your mommy.
J-uncontrollable sobbing
H-God’s my daddy! ;-) Do you have a daddy?
M- yeah, I have a Brian Daddy, but one day I will have a real daddy that lives with me
J- More sobbing
H- Me too!
M- then we’ll have much daddy’s! ;-)

Today on the way to work as we are passing church! ;-)

M- You're mommy's not dead
J- Huh......Yes she is baby, she's in Heaven with Jesus , MeMe is mommy's step mom
M- No, mommy! Your mommy's not dead
J-What do you mean Maggie?
M- She's alive in Heaven
J- Uncontrollable sobbing , yet again;-) .... that's right baby, mommy forgot she's alive she has everlasting life and we will see her again!
M-But we'll be very old and dead!
J- giggle, yeap! very old!

3 minutes later in the silence, I say Maggie ,what are thinking about?
She says, How does god fit in my heart!?!?!?
I say, ask grandma Dee! ;-)

All this time, I thought she wasn't listening to me when I talked about God and Heaven, she really was! Makes you wonder what else they pick up! ;-) I hope she picks up my love for IU basketball! ;-)

The Single life!

I am very happy with my life, me, Maggie and Brittany. We live happily ever after in our house in Glendale. brittany has her life, packed full of social gatherings and ball games, and me and Maggie our lives packed full of everyday stuff! We grocery shop, go out to eat, get ice cream, go for walks, read books, clean the house, and maybe just maybe attend a family cook out! Sounds pathetic, I know, but I love my life!

When I was married, i did everything for Brian, I cleaned the house for Brian, I cooked for Brian, I put make-up on for Brian, I did it all for Brian. now I do it all for me! then it was all about the "look" and how people perseved us to be, now that I look back on it, I was just as guilty as he was. I wanted to be the cute family that everybody looked at and said awww..... Instead, I got a divorce and Child Support every now and then and the reponsibilty of raising Maggie and making parental decisions alone. But again, I'm okay with that! It's a blessing!

I understand now, that God was not the center of our family, Maggie and I prayed at night, but Brian never did, One of our biggest fights was over going to church one particular Sunday. I never want to be in a relationship like that again! and I won't!

The one thing that I think about is Cara all the time telling me that I need to date and I need to do "Grown UP " things, I do , I go to dinner with my friends, Schneed especially! I love her. Molly comes over we do things and I go shopping with Heather and Hailey all the time. Cara and I used to do everything together but now that she is back with Robbie it is hard for her to up and go get a milk shake or go to Wal-mart. and I am OK with that! ;-) I love her and Robbie!

So.... my problem with dating is that if someone dates me, they honestly are dating, Me, Maggie, & Brittany, we are a unit. And that will not change. I will have Cara's, Gordon's, or Junior's kids over to spend the night any time they want to. Don't get me wrong, I go out and get babysitters on occasion but I am just as content staying home and watching a movie!

I'm happy with myself to the point that I'm ok if I never meet someone. Although, I would like to have more kids! ;-) but there's always adoption! ;-) or I can just borrow one from someone!
;-)

Ahh...... Mother's Day!

Mother's day was awesome!

church was great, I got a little weepy, but with each year that passes that I am a mother and not having mine, It means more than ever.Jane Hammond sang a song at church that really touched me after she sang, she hugged me and said "A mother's prayer never dies", then Cindy sang, "somebody's pray'n for me" WEIRD!!!! I know my mom is watching down on me and Maggie and is proud! But most of all, I know that I will see her again oneday and she will get to hold her grand baby ! ;-)

I am truly blessed with all the mother's in my life!
I have my Gramdma Dee who is the prayer warior, she prays for me each and every day, i am sure she probably prays for me more than once a day. Plus she is fun on vacation! ;-) She will never know how much I love her and how much I look up to her! She really inspires me!
I love you Grandma Dee! ;-)
Then I have Linda who is always there for me and has a great fashion since, I can always swap outfits or ask her about clothes, now she's so skinny I can't fit into her clothes! Wreched woman! ;-) She really was the one who taught me to wear make up and fix my hair if it weren't for her... I don't even want to think about what I would look like ;-)
Then there is Granny Smith,This is the person Maggie was named after, I spent a lot of my childhood with this beautiful lady. She is a SAINT! especailly since she has to put up with 7 children and something like 30 grandkids!
Last but not least there is Elaine, Elaine and my dad were married when I was a Freshman in College, they dated a little while I was in Highschool. She is awesome! I couldn't ask for a better Meme for Maggie or a stand in mom for me. She has been there for me and has meant the world to me. I don't know what I would do without her and my dad.
Now after the honorable mentions here are some pictures of the cookout at Meme's house.

Maggie taking some pictures ! Such the photographer! ;-) Copper and Pappy! Pappy is a bigillion years old!

Baby Max! He's such the outdoorsmen!
Poppy and his babies on the Gator!
Poppy an dhis girl ready for a ride! They are inseperable!

What'a a family function without Brittany on her cell phone ;-)
My girls cooking hot dogs!
And here's Poppy manning the grill!
And last but not least here's the OTHER aunt Jesse and baby Max!
God Bless! Hope everyone had a Wonderful Mother's Day and have a great week! ;-)

That's Just Cara!!!

Per request of my loyal readers... this is a post Cara wrote about our differences! No matter what our differences! She will always be my very best friend! I love her more than you could ever Imagen! She has been there for me since the day I was born, The first thing she did when she heard about my mom passing was start packing her bags and packed me some Barbies to play with. That just goes to show how compassionate she is towards me, sometimes! ;-)

When I was younger and needed a female influence because I was using Irish Spring Soap, she bought me bath and Body Works! THANK YOU CARA!!!! My dad had a policy, if Big Blue ain't got it we don't need it!

When I started liking boys she wrote mean poems to make me laugh instead of cry!

And when I got divorced she was there for me! She listened to me cry and whine and be a crazy girl! She's the best, I truly am blessed to have such a wonderful family I have awesome siblings and the BEST big cousin in the world! I wouldn't trade her for anything!

That's Just Jessie

Since Jessie is on me all of the time to update my blog, I'm going to dedicate this entire post to her. That's what you get for being so pushy ;)My sweet cousin, Jessica Shay Smith, is a good girl. We've been close since the minute that she was born. She's always been full of energy and has been very strong. We used to fight all the time, in a loving way of course. However, it was so bad at one point, my Grandma Dee refused to take us anywhere together. My mom wrecked her car into the basketball pole in the Main Cross Church parking lot one time because she was turned around reaching into the backseat trying to break me and my girl up from an especially brutal scrap session. I ran her head into the wall when she wouldn't clean. She nearly broke my thumb slamming the phone on it, and I tried to shove her into the crisper drawer of the refrigerator.Ahhhh, such good times. She moved away for college. I moved in with Robbie. I had a kid and I got married (in that order). She moved back to Indiana. She got married and had a kid (in that order). She got divorced. She started dating. I got divorced. I'm still waiting for that first date. ;)We're probably closer now that we've ever been, which is hard to imagine since I've always considered her to be my sister more than cousin. Even with our special bond and similar upbringing, we couldn't be more opposite if we tried. I've put together a little comparison below, and I hope she embraces and celebrates our differences.1.) She wants to get married and live the fairy tale life with picket fences, butterflies, and puppy dogs. Probably a farm with lots of flowers and plants that she can tend to when she passes time. She wants to make sun tea and fried chicken and deliver it in a perfectly coordinated picnic basket to her hard-working man on a tractor in a field, while her kids are perfectly content cross-stiching their monogram into their pillowcases, just like she taught them.I don't want to get married again, and love being single. This is the best time of my life. I wouldn't change anything at this point, and I'm not looking to be tied down by another man, ever. (Keep in mind that this single difference between Jessie and I cause the most drama in our relationship.)2.) She wants lots of additional kids, whether she gives birth or marries her dream man whose wife died and left him with 6 young'ns to raise. She is excellent with kids and sets up special "Cookie Baking Day" parties, she buys the coolest snacks, and all of the kids in the family want to always go to Jessie's house.I love my two kids, but don't want anymore to raise. My tubes are tied and cut, and that will never change. My dream man doesn't want kids of his own or has kids in their twenties. I would prefer to end up with someone without little kids.3.) Jessie is very domesticated. She loves to make things. She sews, paints, makes crafts, cooks, cleans, and makes a mean gingerbread house.I'm not very crafty, but I can cook when I have to. I would prefer to pull pre-made food from the freezer and throw it in the oven for every meal.4.) She is a homebody that enjoys hanging out at her house watching movies and making homemade popcorn and sweet tea. It doesn't bother her to never go out on the town. She is perfectly content never having a babysitter on the weekends. She likes to go to bed early (before 10), and readily offers to watch my kids when I want to go out.I only stay home when I have my kids, and once Landon has some age on him, I'll probably be dragging them out all of the time, too. I love staying out late on my "no kids" weekends, and dragging myself home around 5 a.m. I can have parties at my house, but I usually convince everyone to go out when they assemble at my place. I love mixing and mingling, and could be on my death bed, and still go out. (FYI - Jessie reluctantly agreed to go out with my on New Year's Eve, but then made me take her home at 11 p.m. Of course, I headed back out after grabbing my karaoke player and some CDs.)5.) Jessie is 5'2" and blonde.I'm 5'10" and usually a brunette. (People say we look so much alike, and we find that so amusing. I call her my twin.)Obviously, we have lots of differences, but we both love to laugh, tell stories, and sing. I always have a great time when I hang out with her, even when we don't go out. And if even if she won't admit it, I think she has a good time when I drag her out with me.I would like her to be more willing to kiss random boys, and not always think about whether or not they would make a good mate prior to doing so. I would like her to show off her assets a little more since she is very buxom and built like a brickhouse. I would like her to throw away every furry and/or fleece vest that she owns. I would like her to not forget about herself as she takes care of everyone else around her. I would like her to live a little before she looks up and realizes that her life has passes her by.I really just want her to always be happy and to always be my best friend.

I love you, Jessica! You complete me.

No, no Cara Delynn, you complete me! ;-)
